The LHCb Upgrade II aims to operate at luminosities above $10^{34}\mathrm{cm}^{-2}\mathrm{s}^{-1}$ in Run 5 of the Large Hadron Collider. The ultimate luminosity requires the experiment to cope with unprecedented pile-up conditions in order to reach the ultimate precision on flavour physics observables such as lepton flavour universality. To cope with the resulting data rates and event complexity, further advances in real-time reconstruction are required beyond the trigger-less, fully software-based architecture established in Upgrade I
